Sadly, I am days late with my planned post and it will be pretty bare thanks to my issues with technology this week. I have only one photo to show you, and haven't been able to put the video together to post on YouTube. *sigh* I'll add it in as soon as I get some working programs together!
Anyway, this recipe is super easy and dern tasty. You will need:
1 lb Brussels sprouts
1/3 lb bacon
1/2-3/4 c water
Salt
Chop the bacon and fry it in a large skillet over medium-high heat. While it's cooking, cut the stems off the sprouts and cut them in half. (Small ones you can leave whole, large ones cut into thirds.) When the bacon is mostly cooked, throw the sprouts in the skillet with 1/2 cup water. Put a lid over them and let them steam for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. At the 10-min mark test them for softness: if not fully cooked add the 1/4 cup water and steam an additional 5 mins.
When the sprouts are fully softened, most or all of the water should be evaporated off. Remove the lid and allow the sprouts to sit without stirring for 2-4 mins. This will result in a crispy, delicious browning that makes this recipe work so well. Give the sprouts one stir and allow to continue browning for another couple of minutes. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

I hope you like this dish as much as I do - I never thought I'd enjoy Brussels sprouts til a couple years ago when a friend introduced me, though I still haven't managed to repeat her recipe.
Hopefully I'll have video posted before the week is out, as well as another new recipe to share! Wish me luck!
